The peristaltic pump head achieves fluid delivery by alternately squeezing and releasing the hose with rollers. Its principle is similar to that of fingers squeezing a hose filled with liquid and sliding it forward. The specific process is divided into three stages:
1. Squeezing stage: The rollers (usually 3 or 6) in the pump head press the hose to form a closed cavity, pushing the fluid forward.
2. Release stage: After the rollers leave, the hose returns to its original shape due to elasticity, negative pressure is generated in the cavity, and subsequent fluid is sucked in.
3. Circular drive: The motor drives the rollers to rotate continuously, and a stable flow output is formed over and over again.
This process has the characteristics of no pollution and strong self-priming ability. The fluid only contacts the inner wall of the hose to avoid cross contamination. It is especially suitable for clean fields such as medicine and food.
Structural composition and material selection
The pump head is usually composed of the following components:
1. Tube wheel assembly: rollers made of stainless steel or PET are responsible for squeezing the hose, and their number (3 or 6) affects the degree of flow pulsation.
2. Pressure block and shell: using engineering plastics such as PPS, ABS, PC or PSU, which are corrosion-resistant and adaptable to high temperatures .
3. Pipe clamp and adjustment device: quick hose replacement design, some models support gap fine-tuning to adapt to different pipe diameters.
Different material combinations can meet diverse needs, for example:
Corrosion-resistant scenarios: PPS housing (YZ35-13L pump head) with stainless steel rollers, suitable for acid and alkali media in the chemical industry.
Precision control of small flow: YZ15S pump head, suitable for flow rates below 185ml/min, compact structure,support the double channels.
Application fields and selection points
The wide applicability of the pump head is due to its pollution-free, corrosion-resistant and high-precision characteristics
Pharmaceutical industry: transporting liquid medicines and blood products (medical-grade hoses are required), requiring low pulsation (6 roller design).
Food and beverage: filling and metering (such as YZ1515X pump head, flow rate up to 2280ml/min), which must comply with food contact material standards.
Chemical industry: handling corrosive media, attention should be paid to the chemical compatibility of materials.
Key selection parameters include:
Flow range: from 0.0008mL/min (ultra-trace) to 33L/min, which needs to match actual needs.
Hose compatibility: If YZ35-13L is compatible with 82# and 73# hoses, it is necessary to ensure that the pump head corresponds to the hose model.
Environmental adaptability: select heat-resistant materials (such as PPS) in high-temperature scenes, and prioritize anti-corrosion design in humid environments
