Why the Peristaltic Pump Cannot Suck Liquids Upwards?

Peristaltic pumps are the best solution for middle and low volume liquid transferring dispensing and filling featuring high precision, durability and without pollution of the liquid. Peristaltic pumps are widely used in lab analysis, water treatment, food beverage filling machines, bioreactors, and chromatographic columns. You can choose the whole peristaltic pump systems or OEM small peristaltic pumps to help you finish the work which are easy to integrate into equipment. However, there may be a situation where the peristaltic pump can’t suck the liquid upwards.  Today, this article will discuss the reason and how we do when the peristaltic pumps can't suck the liquid upwards.

1. The peristaltic pump tubes are installed in the wrong place.

People are commonly confused about how to install the peristaltic pump tubing when they first use it. They put the wrong place leading to the rollers can’t work and the peristaltic tube pump can’t suck liquid upwards.

Solution: Find the right method for installing a peristaltic pump tube.

A: Move the lever of the peristaltic pump head, and open the upper pressure block.

B: Lift the tube clips on both sides and put the hose in the groove. Pull straight and make sure the hose is centered on the rollers.

C: Move the lever in the reversible direction, close the upper-pressure block, and complete the installation.

2. Ultra-low Pressure

When you standardize the peristaltic pump installation and check that there are no other problems, there is no liquid inside the pump tube after you start running. This may be because the pressure is too low. This is often seen in pump heads with pressure valves, which may be where you inadvertently adjust the pump head pressure.

Contacting a technician is recommended to help you adjust the pressure valve.

3. Change the New Peristaltic Pump Tube

The pump tube may suck the inner wall of the container at the liquid inlet end, or there may be a leak somewhere in the hose, or there may be a blockage inside the hose, which may cause the problem of not being able to pump liquid. We suggest you try a new peristaltic pump tube.

4. Other Reasons

In addition to the above three reasons, there are various other reasons: for example, the liquid is too viscous, the suction and lift are too long, the pressure decreases due to the hose being used for too long, etc. If you cannot eliminate the problems yourself, it is recommended to contact a Chonry® after-sale team.
